Trivia: In which capital of Europe will you find the Eiffel Tower?

Answer: Paris

Paris, known to many as the City of Lights, is a beautiful city. It’s the home to the Eiffel Tower and has been for years. A Frenchman, Gustave Eiffel, designed the Eiffel Tower. The tower was completed in 1889 for the International Exhibition of Paris and represented a perfect blend of technology and history.

The structure has three levels for visitors to explore. At the first level, you have a panoramic view of the city from 275 feet (84 meters) above street level, which is an excellent place to start a visit. There are elevators available if you don’t feel up for the 341 steps.

The second level gives you a view of Paris from 300 feet (91 meters) high, and the third level is at an elevation of 906 feet (276 meters). Make sure that you go all the way up to the top because it’s worth the climb.

Seven hundred sixty-eight steps lead you up to the first landing of the tower, but there are another 1,095 steps until you get to the top of this engineering marvel. The view here can’t be described in words; it needs to be experienced firsthand.

As you stand on this level, you can see up to 15 miles (24 km) in all directions. During the day, you can witness magnificent sunsets that are spectacularly contrasted by nightfall when Paris lights up brightly.

The tower was initially intended for use as a radio transmitter, but it never got to be used for this purpose because people protested against its construction. A petition got signed by more than 250 well-known figures of the time to stop its construction.

There’s so much history in this beautiful city. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a local or a tourist, the Eiffel Tower should be an essential part of your visit. You can call yourself a true Parisian after visiting this iconic structure, and one visit is not enough.

If you plan to go during the winter months, bring some warm clothes because it can get a bit cold, even at the top where the sun shines on some days. It’s nice to go up there when it snows because it gives you a sense of serenity and peace, but you should wear the appropriate clothing.
